Our Work

MNFEI collaborates with organizations to bring essential financial wellness training directly into the spaces where our participants already gather. By designing our curriculum to be flexible, inclusive, and deeply practical, we support a wide spectrum of learners, from workforce trainees and adult language students to families striving for long-term independence.

Our current curriculum offerings include:

  • Budgeting and Cash Flow

  • Managing Debt

  • Establishing and Understanding Credit

  • Savings and Investing

  • 1:1 Sessions (This is an opportunity for students to talk to a MNFEI volunteer to discuss personal questions or goals privately)

Curriculum themes can be adapted to fit classroom sessions ranging from 40 - 90 minutes, delivered in-person or remotely, to accommodate the busy schedules of our participants. MNFEI volunteers also meet with participants individually, offering personalized coaching focused on answering individual questions and addressing specific financial situations. We strive to get to know our students and where they are today in order to make sure our curriculum matches their needs.

Our approach emphasizes empathy and cultural responsiveness, ensuring that adults have the resources and autonomy required to make informed financial choices during pivotal life transitions. If you believe MNFEI’s programming would be a valuable addition to your organization, or if you would like to connect us with a potential community partner, please email Executive Director, Tina Oertli. We would love to explore how we can support your community.
